------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Experts' Meeting on Fostering Capacity Building in TVET and Skills Development in Afghanistan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Minister of Education of the Republic of Moldova signs the Curriculum for examination of instructor qualification The Moldavian Minister of Education Dr. Mihail Sleahtitchi and and the president of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Gheorghe Cucu signed the curriculum for the preparation for the examination of instructor qualification which was developed in the framework of the project by the German Foreign Ministry "Support of the competencies of instructors in the Republic of Moldova." Since 2009 the GIZ UNEVOC Centre Magdeburg implements this project by instruments of Human Capacity Development (HCD). Therefore an important fundament is set for the legislative procedure of a practical orientated Vocational Education in the Republic of Moldova. The successful implementation in this two year long process of the project and its successful results are achieved by the combination of political dialogue, tailor-made trainings, study-tours and secondments of experts with different stakeholders of the vocational system. The direct cooperation with the economy of the Republic of Moldova and German Chambers is especially focused in this project. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ International Expert Meeting “Transforming TVET for Meeting the Challenges of the Green Economy” The UNEVOC International Centre Bonn and the GIZ organized the International Experts Meeting on "Transforming Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to Meet the Challenges of the Green Economy" in Bonn on October 27-30, 2011. Here you will find the some impressions of the conference: video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ IC EDUCON DELEGATES SET NEXTGEN IMPERATIVES 2011 - Quad-partite organizers successfully organize Int’l Conference on Preparing TVET Educators for the Next Generation Over 200 delegates from more than 25 countries from the Asia Pacific region, Europe, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and US gathered for the “International Conference on Preparing TVET Educators for the Next Generation (EDUCON 2011)”. Through the 2-day Conference, the delegates appreciated the significance of the role of teachers as agents of change for the next generation. It deliberated on the emergence of an innovation-led economy, ICT revolution, and sustainable development as the principal drivers of change in society. The Conference concluded with a set of “Next Gen Imperatives 2011” which put forward essential recommendations and action points for policy makers, senior administrators, curriculum planners, TVET practitioners and other relevant individuals and organizations to focus on teacher education in TVET in addressing global issues and challenges facing TVET educators’ development. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Official Opening of the UNEVOC Centre Magdeburg

As a part of the regional week on „Education for Sustainable Development“, InWEnt Saxony-Anhalt organized this year´s action day on TVET with a special focus on “TVET and climate protection” in cooperation with Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, the Foundation on Environmental and Climate Protection and the Ministries of Education and Culture and of Agriculture and Environment of Saxony-Anhalt.

Within the strategic guidelines on developmental education, InWEnt Saxony-Anhalt planned a symposium on “Labour Market Potentials of Immigrants” as opening event for this year´s Intercultural Week.

An international workshop on “Green Jobs and Climate Change” had been organized in Magdeburg by the international cooperation team of the Institute for Vocational Education and Human Resource Management, with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ GmbH Regional Office East Germany, from 10 to 13 December 2012. Participants had found their way from Mozambique, Indonesia and Vietnam to engage with representatives from businesses and manufacturing as well as from chambers, research institutions and other educational institutions.
From 12-16 March 2012, an Experts' Meeting on Fostering Capacity Building in TVET and Skills Development in Afghanistan was held at the UNEVOC International Centre in Bonn, Germany. The meeting, which gave room for discussions and provided input speeches, was attended by senior officials from Government of Afghanistan as well as TVET experts from Afghanistan, Cambodia, Lao PDR and Germany. One day was organized at the UNEVOC Centre Magdeburg. Dr. Harry Stolte and Kai Gleißner gave speeches about the TVET Teacher Training Concepts which are carried out in cooperation of the Otto-von Guericke University of Magdeburg and the GIZ team Magdeburg "Human Capacity Development in TVET" as well as an insight into Human Capacity Building in International development work. During their stay in Magdeburg the UNEVOC Centre Magdeburg was presented to the participants as a vivid example of the approaches in the field of TVET.
